• System Practices

All operators must have knowledge of the proper mixing ratio for dust suppression product and first aid measures in case of accidental exposure (available in the MSDS).

All personnel handling equipment and surfactants must wear appropriate PPE as required by mine or contractor safety programs (guidance on appropriate PPE is available in the MSDS).

All dispersal equipment including lines, pumps, mixing chambers, etc. must be regularly inspected for seal integrity, premature wear, and appropriate pressure/application profiles before operation. The correct mixing ratio must be maintained; regular inspection of regulating components is critical to this operation.

MLS 100 DustCAP® periodic inspection of the view window (if available) in the dispersing chamber to verify the presence of residual bars is essential. Testing of the spray (via the foam height method) should be done regularly to verify that there is sufficient amount of surfactant in the effluent at all times.

Never obstruct or stand in the way of the water jets. Do not permit tampering of accidental obstruction of the effluent nozzles.

MLS 100 DustCAP® products are recommended for use at pressures from 100-1,000 psi (1-7 MPa).

In the water system must be opened (i.e. to insert MLS 100 DustCAP® bars) the pressure of the line surrounding the dispersal unit must be reduced either by shutting off the system and bleeding the pressure through continued spraying, or through the use of shut-off valves. Never attempt to open a pressurized line.

Do not mix MLS 100 DustCAP® dust control products with other dust control additives. MLS makes no warrantees from potential incompatibilities or other unexpected behaviors of unusual mixes.
